This collection consists of the papers of James A. Michener, primarily related to the time he spent in Maryland while writing Chesapeake, although there are very few materials relating to his writing of the book itself. Included are manuscripts of articles and scripts for televisions series and appearances, reviews of articles and television productions, correspondence, maps, awards and honors, art, photographs, and other ephemera. This collection also contains a manuscript for Centennial.
