Biography

American sculptor born in Iowa and raised in Denver, Colorado. Studied with Preston Powers in Denver and at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1904 won a competition to create a bronze statue of Sacajawea, the Shoshone woman who accompanied the Lewis and Clarke Expedition.
