Biography

Born in 1868 in Independence, Texas. Direct descendant of President James K. Polk. Painted miniatures, portraits, flowers and landscapes. In New York studied at the Art Students League and also with Chase. In San Antonio with R.J. Onderdonk and with Robert Reid in Paris. Studied miniature painting with Rhoda Holmes Nicholls and landscape painting at Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
