Biography

Born in 1840 in Norfolk, Virginia. Painted landscapes, still lifes and portraits in New York City. Studied at the Philadelphia Art Academy [Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts?] with Wylie and in New York City with J.B. Bristol and A.H. Wyant. In Paris, studied with Julian and Delecluse.
