Biography

Impressionist landscape and portrait painter born in Meriden, Connecticut. Worked as a writer and illustrator for the Brazilian American in Rio de Janeiro from 1916-1920. Studied with Lilla Yale at Meriden, Connecticut. Also attended the Corcoran Art School and later the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts studying with Chase, Beaux, Anshutz and Breckenridge. In New York City worked with Ralph Johonnot. Married Clement Esmond and Chester DuClos.
