Biography

Oil and watercolor painter, illustrator and sculptor born in 1846 in St. Louis, Missouri. Subjects included portraits, figures and landscapes. Studied at Cooper Union in New York City with William Rimmer and in Paris with Jean Paul Laurens, Ferdinand Humbert, and Gastonne St. Pierre at the Academy des Beaux-Arts des Champs Elysees.
