Biography

Born in 1834 in Alfred, New York. Worked as a still life and portrait painter as well as an art teacher at Alfred University. Studied at Alfred Academy with Abigail Allen. Also studied in Chicago, Leroy, New York, Boston, at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City and at the Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington, D.C.
