Biography
German sculptor born in 1896 in Halle, Germany who created heads, busts and figures. Studied with the painters Nolas and Kopp and sculptor Felix Georg Pfeifer in Leipzig and in Berlin with Wilhelm Haverkamp. Depressed by the economic conditions in her country at the end of World War I, Vaihinger committed suicide on the eve of the announcement of her engagement to a poet and state official twice her age.
