Biography

Julianne Burke Fischer Haefeli was born on March 2, 1930 to Ralph and Helen Fischer in Urbana, Illinois. She married Dr. Joseph L. Haefeli, a partner in Haefeli & Haefeli Optomerists. Julianne Haefeli graduated from St. Mary-of-theWoods College in St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana in 1951. Julianne Fischer received a M.A. from Colorado State College of Education in 1954. She was a University of Northern Colorado 1978 Honored Alumni and had just been chosen as the new president of the Alumni Asociation. Julianne Haefeli was a philanthropist, community leader and activist.
