Biography

R. Ewing Stiffler was born in Missouri in 1888 and moved to Colorado in 1904. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, Manual Training Course, 1910; A.B., 1911; Pd.M., Major in Manual Training. While at the University he was a member of Lambda Gamma Kappa; a Fellow in the Manual Training Department, 1910-1912; Vice President of the college class; President of the Manual Training section; member of the Student Committee; President of the Art Club, first term 1911-1912; and Business Manager of the Crucible, 1909-1911. Following graduation, Stiffler taught in the Industrial Department at Sterling High School in Sterling, Colorado. He returned to Denver in 1921 and became an architect and formed the partnership of Jamieson and Stiffler. For most of his architectural career, however, he worked on his own. He retired in 1958 and passed away in 1966.
