Brady, Douglas Joseph
Biographical Note
Joseph Brady is a former UNC graduate student and he graduated with an M.A. in History in 1987. During his last year as a graduate student, he was awarded a Graduate Assistantship and worked for Mr. Ronald S. Camp who was then Director of what was then known as Educational Materials Service (EMS). While working for EMS, he received professional training in 35mm film photography and upon graduation he relocated to Oaxaca, Mexico where he lived for ten years. During the first several years of his residency in Oaxaca, he took documentary style photographs with professional cameras and worked for a year with a UNICEF-funded assistance project for impoverished Oaxacan Indigenous women.
