Framed portrait of "Dr. William F. Hartman 1946-1975," founder of the journalism program at the Univeristy of Northern Colorado. Emeritus Professor Dr. William Frederick Hartman served in several positions while at the University of Northern Colorado from 1946-1974, including Assistant Professor of English/Assistant Director of Public Relations, Associate Professor of English, Director of Public Relations, Professor of English, Professor of Journalism and Chair, Department of Journalism, 1973-1974. He retired in 1974 and passed away in 1993. He is also the author of two publications while working on his Ed.D. at Colorado State College of Education: The History of Colorado State College of Education - the Normal School Period, 1890-1911.
