Decker Hall
Scope and Contents
Decker Hall along with Gordon and Belford Halls were the first dormitories built on the campus.ÃÂ These Dutch Colonial Revival dormitories were originally built in 1921 to house women. Decker Hall is named for Sarah Platt Decker, a pioneer in the Women's Club movement in Colorado.ÃÂ She served as president of the National Federation of Women's Clubs and as a member of the Colorado State Board of Charities and Corrections, the Civil Service Commission, the Public Service League, and the City Federation. Decker Hall housed several University offices, including the Student Health Service and Campus Security.ÃÂ Decker HallÃÂ served asÃÂ the Student Health Center from 1976 until moving into Cassidy Hall in March 1999. Currently it is a residence hall. Source:ÃÂ "In Memorium--Sarah Platt Decker," The Colorado School Journal, vol.
