Flagpoles
Scope and Contents
The Leo Florio Flagpole was dedicated on June 28, 1940 and rededicated on October 13, 1990.ÃÂ The flagpole was presented to what was then Colorado State College of Education by Leo Florio in "appreciation of opportunities American citizenship afforded to an Italian immgrant." The flagpole and a plaque are located north of Gunter Hall.ÃÂ HIs descandents own Florio's Shoes in downtown Greeley. The Van Tine memorial flagpole was dedicated at Jackson Field on May 21, 1964.ÃÂ The flagpole wasÃÂ named in honor of 2nd Lieutenant Arthur Van Tine, Class of 1962, who died in an aircraft accident the previous year.
