Hansen-Willis residence hall was dedicated in 1999 and is named for two University of Northern Colorado alumni. Mildred Hansen was the owner of the Greeley Tribune newspaper from 1953 to 1977. Mildred Shield's photograph appears in the 1926 Cache La Poudre yearbook. She was later adopted and became Mildred Hansen, a major influence in the life of the city's newspaper, the Greeley Tribune. Connie Willis is an award winning science fiction author. Photographs of Connie Trimmer Willis and her husband, Courtney Willis, a UNC professor of physics, appear in the 1966 Cache La Poudre yearbook.
