Kepner Hall, 1912-
Scope and Contents
The Training School was built and occupied in segments starting with the center in 1912 and ending with the erection of the east wing in 1923. It was the K-12 school building until Bishop-Lehr was completed in 1962. In 1931, the building was renamed in honor of long-time trustee, Harry Kepner (1911-1947). The Training School was also known as the Model School. 1891-1899; Training School. 1899-[1924?]; High School. 1902-1916; State High School of Industrial Arts. 1916-1922; College High School. 1922- ; Laboratory School [1924-]; and Ernest Horn Elementary School. 1940- . Kepner Hall, the former Training School, is now the home of the [url=http://mcb.unco.edu/]Monfort College of Business[/url]. Extensive remodeling in 1986-87 updated the building to accommodate the newest technology necessary to support the business curriculum. On October 30, 2000 the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business dedicated the Monfort Plaza and Teachnology Center. The ceremony also included the unveilling of a statue of Ken Monfort.
