Series Scope and Contents
This series contains the records of provosts (or equivalent formal title, such as academic vice president). Academic programs, colleges, and units overseen by the Office of Academic Affairs are well-represented. Materials largely document topics such as curriculum and academic planning, enrollment, faculty, budget, diversity issues, retrenchment (reduction in force), strategic planning, and technology. Some subseries include minutes and agendas from leadership committees convened by the provost. These offer information on important issues and trends of the time.

Series Processing Information
Many of the records within each subseries were created and/or received by the Office of the Provost, but likely not all. Most of this collection arrived without documentation, meaning the Archives has no information about who created, maintained, or transferred the material to the Archives. As such, some records were organized into the respective subseries because the archivist assumed (based on date or topic) the record was created/received/maintained by the Provost’s Office under that particular provost.
