Scope and Contents
This collection consists primarily of James A. Michener's personal papers covering the period between 1975 and 1982 and relating to the publication of his novel Space. Included in the collection are manuscripts, galleys, outlines, timelines, diary/day schedules, field notebooks, correspondence, newspaper and magazine articles, awards/honors, photographs, and other ephemera.

Acquisition Information
James A. Michener initially donated this collection to Swarthmore College. Following Michener's death, the collection was transferred to the University of Northern Colorado Archives in 1998.
