Weld County Home Rule Charter collection

 Collection — Box: SC011 Box 1
Identifier: SC011

Collection Scope and Contents

Home Rule allows citizens to manage their own governmental affairs through the use of voting. A vote allows citizens to show approval or disapproval of their government and insist that it properly represents the people.

In this collection are reports and information on the various committees within the Weld County Home Rule, including Health, Personnel, Administration, and Finance & Taxation. The County Service Reports file contains information on elections, recording, vehicle registration, and attorney, while the file on county relations deals with local improvement districts & the Regional Council of Governments. The 1975 Charter Drafts show the process by which voters can make changes in the charter. Also contained in this collection are notes, pamphlets, clippings & booklets, for the information of the public, and finally, a final 1975 copy of the Home Rule Charter.
