James A. Michener Hawaii manuscript
Scope and Contents
The collection consist of a 48 page carbon typescript on onionskin paper of a draft section from Hawaii, "From the Starving Village" which became Chapter 4 with the same name in the published version and other materials. The draft section was found in an envelope with a cover letter from James A. MMichener, one page of notes relating to the manuscriipt, and several pages of sketches not related to the manuscript.
