Other Descriptive Information

While searching all of the collections within the James A. Michener Papers for a particular photograph, some photographs were pulled from the boxes and scanned. These photographs have been placed in legal size folders and are laying on top of folders or loose items in the boxes. This is the reason a notation such as (Unsorted except for some photographs) can be found in the Finding Aid. Some of the boxes in this collection were unknowingly separated and placed in another room, so the boxes were renumbered. This is the reason a notation such as Formerly: SC 1-35, Box 1 can be found in the Finding Aid.
