Scope and Contents

Two photocopies of endsheets found within a copy of the book Nemesis of Power; German Army in Politics, 1918-1945. The inscriptions were written by James A. Michener; the first is an outline of the book's topics and the second explains the importance of the book to the inscriber.

The inscription reads:


One of the most important books I've ever read, not for its sake, but because it was the first I tried after my heart attack. I was trying to see if I could get back into control of the vast amount of material I'd read before. each page of this book was like meeting old friends again-Hoepper, Keitel, Von Manstein, Von Leek-and when it became apparent that I could master the amterial once more it was a memorable moment."
