Biographical or Historical Information

Sigma Upsilon Sorority was founded at the State Normal School of Colorado (now the University of Northern Colorado) on October 31, 1905. Sigma Upsilon became associated with Sigma Kappa (Gamma Alpha Chapter), a national sorority on November 4-5, 1950. Alumni of Colorado State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Colorado) organized a Denver Chapter in 1918. This organization was in existence until at least 2005. Alumni of Colorado State Teachers College organized the Sigma Upsilon Alumni of Southern Colorado in 1925. This organization was in existence until at least 1944/1945.
