This collection contains materials related to the history of athletics at the University of Northern Colorado. The bulk of the materials relate to athletics and sports programs, departments and academic functions, and college athletic organizations. It is believed that the Athletic Department and the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) were at one time managed under one organizational unit, potentially with different names. Materials include news clippings on the school’s mascots, various UNC sports teams, championships, and UNC Hall of Fame inductions. Other materials include game day programs, commemorative clothing, scouting reports, team rosters, season schedules, game film, and athletic brochures, HPER brochures, committee reports and correspondence, athletic budgets, student scholarship reports, curriculum and course feedback, student files, student newspapers, events, and audio recordings from former faculty. From the Physical Education department correspondence on tenure and promotion, staff and faculty meetings, and announcements. The collection also includes handbooks, regulations, and leadership meeting minutes for the following organizations: Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), Rocky Mountain Faculty Athletic Conference (RMFAC), Colorado State College of Education Board of Athletic Control (BOAC), Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW), National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
