University of Northern Colorado, Admissions records
Collection Scope and Contents
This collection contains a variety of publications and reports from the University of Northern Colorado Office of Admissions.
Publications include admissions bulletins, brochures, class profiles, flyers, newsletters, newspaper clippings, orientation materials, student handbooks, posters, transfer guides, recruitment materials, reports, viewbooks and an admissions card.
Images of campus life, buildings, dorm floorplans, and maps are featured in several publications. Reports concern admissions, enrollment, orientation, and recruitment. Two reports detail recruitment of minority students in the 1990's.
Class Profiles contain data on applications received, approved, freshmen enrolled; Percentage by high school class rank; Percentage older freshmen; Geographic distribution by home locations; Relationship to UNC alumni; Ratio of public-private secondary education; Types and amounts of financial assistance; ACT test scores; Courses of study for men and women enrolled.
Begun as early as 1964, the Class Profiles were printed on a single or double-sided 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet during the 1970s and into the 1980s. They were given fairly wide distribution.
The date of the Profile refers to the date of expected graduation. For example, the Profile published in the fall of 1970 is for the class of 1974. Some enrollment data is given for classes other than the freshman class. Archives does not have a complete set. This information is continued in UNC Factbook 1992- RG8 S3 F12).
Viewbooks averaged 30 pages and were used to recruit freshmen and transfer students. The viewbooks highlighted UNC's unique college life and academics as well as information on admissions procedures, financial aid, programs of study and costs to attend.
The collection also contains some biographical information on Vesta M. Waite and her husband as well as her admissions card.
