This collection contains materials related to the School of Nursing at the University of Northern Colorado, including course syllabi, faculty meeting minutes, self-study reports, NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) Summary Profiles, documents on the history of the program, promotion and tenure policies and procedures, faculty applications, department correspondence, newsletters, news clippings, faculty-student organization meeting minutes, student files, photographs, CDs with digital photos and presentations, and a homecoming trophy.

Organizational History
A Division of Nursing was created in 1962 and received full State Board of Nursing Accreditation in 1966. The program also graduated its first class with five students in 1966. In 1967 Nursing became one of seven schools at Colorado State College (later the University of Northern Colorado). A Master’s of Science in Nursing Education was added in 1979. In 1981 it evolved into the School of Nursing and Gerontology. In 1990 the name changed to the College of Health and Human Sciences. In 2005 it was transferred to the College of Natural and Health Sciences.

Acquisition Information
School of nursing materials from acquisition #64 transferred by Phyllis D. Drennan July 18, 2006. Acquisitions #16.19 on June 27, 2016 and #19.01 on November 1, 2018 came from the School of Nursing.
Processing Note
The former identifier number for this collection was RG007-S009NURS. It was changed in January 2018 during the RG collection management project for the purpose of consistent identifier numbers.
