Collection Scope and Contents
This collection documents the history, administration, and activities of the University of Northern Colorado Libraries. It contains documentation from both current and defunct units and departments within the library including Technical Services, Acquisitions, Music Library, Collection Development, Lab School Library, and more. It also includes files from various committees, most notably the Library Assessment Committee and Development Advisory Board. A good part of the collection documents exhibits in the Mari Michener Gallery. There is also general documentation on employees such as photographs, hiring activities, and evaluation information. It also contains information on the Michener building and dedication. Administrative materials include reports, correspondence, memos, and lists. There are flyers, brochures, audio-visual materials, and library publications. There are also drafts and research notes pertaining to various articles and a "History of the UNC Libraries" research project being completed by librarian Frank. X. Roberts. In addition, there are artifacts of library memorabilia that was used in the library or used as promotional materials.

Abstract
This collection documents the history, administration, and activities of the University of Northern Colorado Libraries.
Acquisition Information
Material transferred from the UNC Libraries in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2016; from Colette Pitcher in 2007 and 2012; from Belinda Hardy in approximately 2006; and Charles Rhine in 2009. One folder was transferred from the UNC Office of the Registrar records (RG008-S005) in June 2021, to box #RG13.S13. Acquisition information is unknown for much of the collection prior to 2006.

Series numbers were kept to facilitate access until the collection can be re-processed. Some series numbers are missing (e.g. Series #1, #5) because these series became their own collections.
Processing Note
Series 20: History of the Libraries processed by intern Michael Hughes September 2021. Series renamed "Frank X. Roberts Library Research Files" and two new series were created: Series 30: Memoralibilia and Series 31: Library Photographs. Some items separated and moved to other series or destroyed.
