Collection Scope and Contents

This collection documents general activities and functions of the Office of the Registrar, including registration, enrollment management, recruitment, retention, and commencement and graduation. It contains non-confidential and non-student records such as flyers, memos, notices, syllabi, UNC seals, student directory on microfilm, calendars, and academic schedules. There is information on the registration process such as planning documents, tuition classification (residency), telephone registration manual, and an academic computing system from the early 1990s. The collection contains a set of syllabi titled "Course Outlines and Assignments" for the External Degree Program (EDP) and alternative site programs (essentially, continuing education courses). There are also committee files related to registration, recruitment. and enrollment. Additionally, the collection includes materials documenting the College Student Personnel Administration (CSPA) program.

Abstract

This collection contains non-confidential and non-student records generated or accumulated by the Registrar's Office and university registrar. The collection includes information about registration, courses, commencement, enrollment, and recruitment.

Acquisition Information

The UNC Office of the Registrar transferred material in June 2011 (accn# 11.33). One box of memos, flyers, pamphlets, and administrative documents was transferred into this collection from collection #RG009-S002, UNC Registrar and Records transcripts, in March 2021. Acquisition information for the remainder of the collection is unknown.

Processing Note

The former identifier number for this material was RG008-S003-F18-2. It was changed during the RG collection management project for the purpose of creating a separate collection and having a consistent collection number.
