This collection includes alumni publications, registers/directories, brochures, clippings, alumni awards (Honored Alumni and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees), materials relating to the change of the name from Colorado State College to the University of Northern Colorado, legislative information, news releases, alumni chapters, alumni sponsored tours, homecoming/reunions, alumni weekends, photographs, sound tapes, alumni biographies/clippings, alumni memborabilia, 75th Anniversary--Diamond Jubilee Materials for 1965, alumni employed in colleges and universities, Alumni Relations administrative materials, and Alumni Associaton histories.

Abstract

This collection consists of materials relating to the history and activities of the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association (UNCAA), previously known as the The Alumni Association of Colorado State College Inc., 1965-1970.

Acquisition Information

Archives and Special Collections received records from the Alumni Association for Series 1-Series 19 by Febrary 1991, which is the date of the earliest finding aid. Archives received UNC Bulletins and Catalogs for the years 1958-1975 and photographs from the Class of 1893 (some students are identified and others are not) from the Alumni Association on March 29, 1985 and items from Series 6 -- Alumni Association, 1965-and earlier (RG18 S6) from the Alumni Association in January 1989. Alumni Relations transferred material in September 1997. Archives also received the following materials from the Alumni Association or from other donors: Accession #11 on April 18, 2005; #41 on January 18, 2006; #62 on July 12, 2006; #07.18 on September 7, 2007; #9.28 in 2005 or earlier; #11.21 on August 11, 2011; #12.02 on February 22, 2012; #12.05 on March 6, 2012; #12.11 on May 22, 2012; #12.12 on May 22, 2012; #14.12 on June 12, 2014; #14.14 on June 23, 2014; #14.25 on September 5, 2014; #16.41 on September 19, 2016; and #17.18 on March 29, 2017. One folder was transferred from the UNC Office of the Registrar records (RG008-S005) in June 2021, to box #RG018.011. Donna Lakin donated materials in 2021. University Advancement transferred Honored Alumni programs in 2021 and 2022.

Some VHS tapes have been digitized from this collection: KFKA History and Centennial Celebration, Homecoming/Family Weekend, and 1939 Class Reunion, October 1989; University of Northern Colorado; UNC Second Century Campaign; and UNC: A Special Place. Separated Materials

The "Alumni Courier" publication was separated at an unknown date and cataloged as a university publication in September 2018. Alumni Directories were separated from this collection and cataloged as a university publication in 2021, call #: LB1840.G72 A481.

Processing Note

RG018-S001 through RG018-S024 were merged into this collection during the Record Group Collection Management Project, February 2018.
