Collection Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials from UNC students, faculty, and administrators during the COVID-19 pandemic, much of which is born-digital. There are emails from administration to students, staff, and parents of UNC students that discuss how the campus has been impacted and the measures that will be taken to continue with the spring semester of 2020. There are also video interviews (oral histories) with UNC students, faculty, and Blaine Nickeson, Assistant Vice President for Administration, documenting how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their lives, work, and education. There are also donated materials from various UNC affiliates that give insight into daily life during the pandemic. This material includes class assignments related to the pandemic; personal photographs and written accounts; “Grim Days” comic drawings; and 1 UNC mask. This collection also contains UNC websites created and updated during the coronavirus pandemic.
