Collection Scope and Contents
This collection contains material related to the work, interests, and personal lives of Robert and Sue Schulze. Robert O. Schulze was in the army during World War II and his experience is documented through a series of personal correspondence from 1942 to 1959. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Thomas J Watson Foundation, Dean of the College of Arts and Science at the University of Northern Colorado, and conducted research on the life Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Suzanne "Sue" Schulze was an archivist at the University of Northern Colorado. She conducted family research that led to the creation of the book No Fun Like Work. She also research Colorado archives and was interested in the Rhode Island history and government.

Biographical Note
Robert O. Schulze was an active faculty member at the University of Northern Colorado, professor of Sociology and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He also played an esential figure as Exectutive Director for the Thomas J Watson Foundation, a foundation that gave grants to pre-college students travel the world. His interest in former president Franklin D Roosavelt led to an opportunity to present his finding on the past president at the Pacific Sociological Association Conference in 1982. He was in the United States Army during World War II, assigned to the Sixth Army Headqusters. He married Suzanne Sims in 1948 on his return from the war. Robert and Suzanne had two children. He passed away in 1999.
Suzanne 'Sue' Schulze was an active faculty member at the University of Northern Colorado. She did instruction in the field of library science, librarian of government documents, and was the Universities Archivist from 1985-1989. She conducted a family history and completed a book on her family, No Fun Like Work. She was a leading expert in Horace Greeley, and had a strong h=interest in archives, government documents, and politics. Suzanne passed away in 2022.
