Collection Scope and Contents

This collection contains documents from Presiden Herman Lujan's tenure as president, which was from 1991 to 1996. The collection contains correspondence, reports, budgets, and clippings from Lujan's presidency, as well as correspondence, reports, and clippings from Dickeson, Davies, Skinner, and Brown's presidencies. Included in this collection are items concerning diversity efforts to hire minority instructors and committee reports from the Civil Rights Commission, the Commission on Women, and the Diversity Committee, including the University's "Commitment to Diversity."

Acquisition Information

Several boxes were received in 1998 from the President's Office. One folder of material transferred from collection #RG008-S005, UNC Office of the Registrar, in June 2021 (box# RG002.S9.059).
