Biography

Elizabeth Hays Kendel served in several positions while at the University of Northern Colorado from 1893-1938, including Assistant in the Model School; Training Teacher of the Fifth Grade; Training Teacher of the Sixth Grade; Assistant Professor of Student Teaching; Associate Professor of Student Teaching; Supervising Teacher, College High School; Associate Professor of Secondary Mathematics; and Associate Professor of Mathematics Emeritus. Scope and Contents Tobey-Kendel Hall along with Snyder and Sabin Halls were built in 1936 as a Federal Public Works Project. The hall was remodeled several time to serve primarily as a dining hall. It was last renovateded as part of the Central Campus Renovation Project. Tobey-Kendel Hall currently serves as the dining hall for central campus and houses two departments, Housing and Residence Life as well as Dining Services.
