Brownell, L. T. (Lewis T.), 1895-1896
Scope and Contents
Lewis T. Brownell (1833-1914) served as the Normal School Librarian from June 18, 1895 to January 31, 1896. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. When twelve years old, he took a job with a large clothing firm as a packer and advanced to become a "foreign buyer" for the company. L. T. Brownell married Emma Louise Waterhouse on January 31, 1853. They moved to Greeley in May 1872. He worked for A. Z. Solomon for twenty-five years and then became a salesman for an eastern company.
