Series 5: Alumni Case for University Status Materials, 1970
Series Scope and Contents
The alumni were active in the effort to have Colorado State College become a university. There are copies of two brochures in this file which were part of this effort. At one time the intent was to use the title "the University of Greeley." "Colorado State College" had been the official name since 1957. The act changing the name to the "University of Northern Colorado" became effective May 1, 1970, and a separate board of trustees was established by law as of July 1, 1973.
