First Student Grade Book (original), 1890 - 1894
Collection Scope and Contents
This collection contains student transcripts from 1890-1976; Army Air Forces Western Technical Training Command (AAFTTC) student transcripts, 1942-1946; Continuing Education Unit transcripts, 1975-1980; and the first grade book from the State Normal School, 1890-1894. It also includes student academic records, student course loads, and confidential registration records on microfilm rolls and in bound volumes.

Conditions Governing Access
Most of this collection is closed to researchers due to FERPA. As of March 2021, the only material open for research is the first Student Grade Book, 1890-1894. Other materials will be opened for research 125 years after the latest date within the series (i.e. set of transcripts or records, or the microfilm roll or volume). For more information, please see descriptions within each series. Copies of transcripts must be requested through the Registrar's Office.

General
Found in locked fire proof safe in summer 2019. It is thought to be the first grade record in UNC history. Because the dates of the grades are over 125 years old, it is unrestricted.
