RG021_05_04_0004. One postcard; color; 5.50 in. x 3.50 in. Published by Sanborn Souvenir Co., Denver, Colorado. Color photograph of Snyder Hall, one of the women's dormitories. Snyder Hall was completed in 1936 with RFC and PWA funds. Originally there was a lily pond in front of Snyder; it was removed in 1955 after vandals attacked it. Over the years, the porch has been both white and brown.The dormitory was named for Margaret "Maggie" Snyder, the wife of Zachariah Xenophon Snyder, UNC President 1891-1915. Mrs. Snyder was involved in many activities on campus and helped organize the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA). Text on the back of the postcard reads "The Colorado State College of Education specializes in preparation for the teaching profession. Its beautiful tree shaded campus covers several blocks forming delightful settings to its beautiful buildings." This postcard was transferred from RG15 S10, Folder--Snyder Hall.
