This photograph shows Guggenheim Hall in the foreground and Crabbe Hall in the background. Guggenheim Hall, named for U.S. Senator Simon Guggenheim who donated money for the builddng, was built in 1912 durng the presidency of Zachariah Xenophone Snyder. It housed the fine and industrial arts programs. Following a major fire in Guggenheim in 1951, the building was repaired and continued to be used for classes and offices. A major renovation of the building was completed in 2002. The Home Economics Building was constructed in 1919 and was named for of the College's third president, John Grant Crabbe, who served as the University's President, 1916-1924. "Crabbe initiated the construction of student residence buildings on the campus. During Crabbe's administration a number of courses in art, music and literature were established. This postcard was transferred from SC82, Box 1, Folder 9.
