This collection consists of materials on earth buildings, and more specifically, rammed earth buildings. Included in the collection are manuscripts, historical materials, manuals and information about building rammed earth homes and walls, publications, pamphlets, magazine articles, correspondence, photographs, information on seminars, and newspaper clippings. Abstract

This collection consists of materials on earth buildings, and more specifically, rammed earth buildings. Included in the collection are manuscripts, historical materials, manuals and information about building rammed earth homes and walls, magazine articles, correspondence, photographs, information on seminars, and newspaper clippings.

Arrangement

Series 1: General Alphabetical files on earth houses These are the original Miller files on earth buildings, constructions and supplies with photographs, correspondence and other materials. They also contain several books on earth construction including the Miller publication Rammed Earth: A Selected Bibliography. Greeley, CO: Rammed Earth Institute International, 1982. A large number of photographs are included in the files. Series 2: Published Materials These files included published article on the subject of the collection. They are listed by author, by geographical location and title of the periodical. Series 3: Miscellaneous These files contain historical material, manuals and information about building rammed earth homes and walls, partial manuscripts, Mother Earth News and seminars, Miller House 1946 (the original Adam P. Alles house), and newspaper and magazine clippings.
