Collection Scope and Contents
This collection documents a variety of University related public presentations. It contains excerpts, lectures, and recaps of the Summer Assembly Series (1948-1969); administrative information, correspondence, brochures, and lectures from the UNC Lecture Series (1970-1984), and audio reels, grant files, and workshop materials from the Emotional Crisis workshop (1966-1978). Programs for performing and visual arts presentations are also found in this collection. These include theater, dance, and opera productions as well as music recitals and concerts. Other topics covered within this collection include the Model United Nations event (1957-1986), KUNC and earlier radio stations affiliated with UNC, and the School Administration Workshop (1951-1958).

Abstract
This collection documents UNC related public presentations including assemblies, conferences, workshops, visual and performing arts events, festivals, lecture series, special days, radio and television programs, and other events.
Acquisition Information
Acquisition information for much of the material in this collection is unknown. In 2006, Ken McConnellogue, Vice President of University Advancement, transferred to Archives the Jazz Festival 2004 Post Event Report. In 2007, Shirley Newton gifted to the Archives a 1909 Souvenir Program of the First Annual Festival of the Department of Music, and in 2011, Brian Clay Luedloff, Director of Opera Theatre, transferred 2 opera programs (1972,1985). In 2015, Melanie Poston of the College of Performing and Visual Arts transferred programs ranging in date from 1996 to 2013, and in 2017, Dr. Sandra Minton donated UNC dance photographs, clippings, programs, and brochures, dating from 1972 to 1998. One folder transferred from the UNC Office of the Registrar records (RG008-S005) in June 2021, to box #RG012 S9.

Collections RG012-S001 through RG012-S039 were merged into this collection during the Record Group Collection Management Project, January 2018.
