Scope and Contents Butler-Hancock Hall was "erected and occupied in 1972" and replaced the aging Gunter Hall, located on the University's East Campus. An olympic-sized swimming pool was added in 1974. The building was dedicated on Febrary 4, 1975. Butler-Hancock Hall was renamed the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion during 2004-2005.
