The collection contains a sculpture created by Dennis Cole from a life-mold of Michener's hands and the front of his manual typewriter and items used during the origianl display of the sculpture including a photograph, caption, and correspondence from Dennis Cole to Gary Pitkin. James A. Michener gave the sculpture the title: "With these two fingers, I typed millions of words."
