JM. James A. Michener Papers and Special Collections
Created in 1978 after James A. Michener donated thirty-seven linear feet of his papers, relating primarily to his novel Centennial. Shortly before his death in 1997 Michener designated the University of Northern Colorado the home of the bulk of his writing and publishing legacy. The James A. Michener Papers and Special Collection contains a variety of material relating to the James A. Michener's life and work.

Abstract 11 works of art deaccessioned from the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The materials were transferred to UNC Archival Services in May 2012.

Abstract This collection contains publications, photographs taken by Tessa J. Dalton, negatives and contact sheets, clippings and articles about Michener, correspondence, interviews on cassette tapes, a copy of the manuscript for "In Search of Centennial" with corrections by Tessa Dalton, slides, photo documentation, and other related materials.
