JM. James A. Michener Papers and Special Collections

Identifier: JM
Created in 1978 after James A. Michener donated thirty-seven linear feet of his papers, relating primarily to his novel Centennial. Shortly before his death in 1997 Michener designated the University of Northern Colorado the home of the bulk of his writing and publishing legacy. The James A. Michener Papers and Special Collection contains a variety of material relating to the James A. Michener's life and work.

Abstract This collection includes a White Shoulder perfume box that was originally filled with the artifacts including a "Jews Harp (also called Juice Harp)," a pair of glasses and case, a metal heart, and a book. The "Jews Harp (also called Juice Harp)," was given to Mr. and Mrs. Haman by James A. Michener while he was doing research at the Laramie, Wyoming museum.
