JM. James A. Michener Papers and Special Collections
Created in 1978 after James A. Michener donated thirty-seven linear feet of his papers, relating primarily to his novel Centennial. Shortly before his death in 1997 Michener designated the University of Northern Colorado the home of the bulk of his writing and publishing legacy. The James A. Michener Papers and Special Collection contains a variety of material relating to the James A. Michener's life and work.

Michener's personal papers relating to the research and writing of Alaska, The Eagle and the Raven, Journey, Mexico, Pilgrimage, Poland, Space, The World is My Home and other publications as well as two folders on Bora Bora. It also includes activities he participated in during this time period, such as NASA, UNESCO, and Radio Free Europe. Scope and Contents This collection consists of furniture and furnishing given to the James A. Michener Library by James A. Michener. The collection includes items that would be found in an office, such as a lamp, desk, typewriter, typewriter table, chairs, tables, and other items.
