Scope and Contents Lewis T. Brownell (1833-1914) served as the Normal School Librarian from June 18, 1895 to January 31, 1896. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Scope and Contents Joseph Francis Daniels (1865-1921) served as Librarian at the State Normal School of Colorado, 1896-1901. He also taught Art History and Library Science classes. Scope and Contents Albert Frank Carter (1865-1949) served as Head Librarian, Professor of Library Science, Bibliography, and Administration, 1901-1906 & 1907-1933. In 1911, he received an A.B. degree from the State Normal School of Colorado. Carter's philosophy was "a library must provide information, inspiration and recreation."
